A cosmetic surgery with a branch in Southampton which suddenly collapsed without warning has been acquired by a national cosmetics chain.
Lorena Cosmetics has acquired the Sk:n cosmetic surgery clinic chain that suddenly closed more than 70 branches across the UK last July, including a branch in East Street, Southampton.
According to Lorena Cosmetics, the company has actively worked to re-employ many former Sk:n employees and said it is dedicated to ensuring ongoing delivery of high-quality medical aesthetic and cosmetic services.
Founded in 1990, the collapse of Sk:n left staff and patients alike in the dark about the future of the company.

At the time of the closure, Sk:n's PR company, Kendrick PR, said it was "blindsided" about the collapse of the company.
Stephen Hannan, clinical services director of Lorena Cosmetics, said: "We are acutely aware of the impact the previous business liquidation had on patients, employees and suppliers alike.
"As a patient-centric business already delivering care to stringent regulations and the highest standards of service, we are committed to rebuilding consumer trust."
The company said that more than half of the re-opened Sk:n clinics have benefitted from moving to upgraded premises within existing Optical Express clinics.
All of the premises have Care Quality Commission registrations which allow for the delivery of advanced treatments and surgical procedures.
At the current time, it is unclear if there are plans to see the East Street venue reopened but Lorena Cosmetics added that it plans to continue launching Sk:n in further locations throughout 2025.
The branch in Southampton will also be introducing an expanded range of treatments and including polynucleotides, dermatology services and advanced skincare.
David Moulsdale, Chairman and CEO of Lorena Cosmetics Holdings SPV, said: “The acquisition and integration of Sk:n and THMG into the Lorena portfolio reinforces our commitment to delivering world-class patient care.
“By leveraging our almost 35 years of healthcare expertise, we aim to elevate the Sk:n brand, ensuring every patient receives exceptional, medically-led, clinician delivered care in state of the art facilities.”
