Armed police blocked a road in Southampton today to enter a house, and officers have now issued a full statement.
Weston Lane was partially closed at around midday today (December 11) as sniffer dogs and at least five armed officers entered a property.

This was following reports of a man with a firearm on Weston Grove Road.
The road was closed just after Weston Lane’s junction with Camley Close, up to the road’s turning with Barnfield Road - forcing Bluestar buses to terminate services early as access to Weston was blocked.
Police have now issued a full statement on why armed police were on the scene.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: “We were called at around 11:50am this morning (Wednesday 11 December) with reports of a man with a firearm on Weston Grove Road in Southampton.
“Specialist officers attended and a located an imitation firearm (BB gun), which has been seized.
“A 43 year-old man from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm without a certificate.
“He remains in police custody at this time and enquiries are ongoing.”
