A supermarket's charity bookcase raised £300 for the Guide Dogs fundraising group.
Colleagues at the Tesco Superstore in Whiteley welcomed members of the local Guide Dogs group to the store.
Volunteers from the Hamble Valley and Whiteley fundraising group visited the supermarket to receive the cheque.
The funds came from shoppers who supported the store’s charity bookcase over the past three years.
The scheme, run by community champion Caroline Mannell, has raised more than £4,000 for various charities.
The latest to benefit is the Hamble Valley and Whiteley fundraising group for Guide Dogs, with £300 from generous shoppers.
Jennie Smith, a founding volunteer fundraiser for the charity group, said: "We depend on lovely people like Caroline and Tesco to help us raise money and allow us to fundraise on their premises, so we’re very grateful to them for this latest donation."
Other local charities that have benefited from the fundraising book stall include Sophie’s Legacy, Jigsaw Pre-school, and The Friday Night Charity.
The store’s bookcase allows shoppers to choose a book and donate the cost to a good cause. Every penny raised goes directly to the charities, helping them make a difference in the community.
