Parts of Bitterne Road West will be closed for the next two nights to allow roadworks to take place.
Lane restrictions will be in place along the carriageways – heading in and out of the city – with railing replacement works being conducted along the central reservation.
The works will impact motorists for two nights – Monday, December 9 and Tuesday, December 10 – between the hours of 8pm and 6am.

Southampton Travel – which provides travel updates for the city – stated that access to neighbouring Glenfield Avenue will be maintained.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Southampton Travel said: “Railing replacement along the central reservation of Bitterne Road West, will take place over two nights, Monday, December 9 and Tuesday, December 10, 2024, from 8pm to 6am.
“During working hours, there will be a lane road closure along the carriageways. Access to Glenfield Avenue will be maintained.”
