A new "state-of-the-art" electric vehicle education centre is set to open in Southampton.
Sparks Commercial Services Ltd, part of the Renault Trucks dealer network, is opening a new LCV Sales and EV Education Centre in Southampton, creating 25 new jobs, in early 2025.
Located on the Redbridge Causeway at the end of the M271 motorway, the new dealership will act as a hub for selling new and used LCV and truck sales.
It will also offer support to the Sparks head office and commercial services centre which is located less than a mile away.
The new location will have a range of Renault Trucks vehicles from 3.1 tonnes to 44 tonnes, as well as an aftersales servicing operation and EV education centre.
The new site will have secure parking, multiple workshop bays, an MOT lane for Class 4, 5, and 7 vehicles, along with computerised brake roller testing and diagnostic facilities for all makes and models.
The aftersales department will also provide repair and maintenance agreements for both new and in-service vehicles.
Sparks Commercial Services co-founders and directors Michael and Julie Spark said: "This new centre represents a significant step forward for Sparks Commercials. Not only does it strengthen our presence in the South, but it also demonstrates our commitment to advancing sustainable transport and investing in the communities we serve.
"We are thrilled to see this vision come to life and look forward to welcoming and delivering exceptional service and innovative solutions to both new and existing customers."
As an approved dealer of Renault replacement parts, Sparks will also have a dedicated parts counter for sales and workshop support.
At the core of the new facility is the Electric Vehicle (EV) Education Centre, designed to equip businesses and consumers with the knowledge to confidently embrace electric vehicles.
The centre will have interactive displays, workshops led by experts, and personalised consultations, ensuring customers are fully informed of the benefits and best practices of EV adoption.
The company plans to expand this dedicated LCV offering across all regions over the coming months.
