A violent robber who slashed at a man with a machete stealing £5,400 has been jailed.
Colin Wood, 28, attacked the man in his 30s - who he knew - at a property in Longfield Avenue, in Fareham, leaving him with a cut.
Wood, previously of Gosport Road, took £5,400 in cash during the robbery on January 25 at 4.33pm and has now been handed an eight-year jail term.

He admitted robbery and possession of a bladed article at Portsmouth Crown Court.
Investigating officer DC Joe Robinson said: “This was a nasty attack perpetrated by Wood, made worse by the fact that he chose to use a machete in order to harm the victim and get away with a vast sum of cash.
“It is well documented that use of knives and bladed weapons can kill, and we take a zero tolerance approach to anyone who carries or uses weapons.”
