A pensioner is fighting for his life after a horror crash in Gosport
The 87-year-old slammed his silver Volkswagen Tigua into a wall in Privett Road at about 4.25pm on Wednesday.
He had come off the roundabout with Military Road when he crashed. He is now in hospital being treated for his injuries.
As reported, there were long delays as Privett Road was partially blocked in both directions between Military Road/Gomer Lane and Jellicoe Avenue.
A police spokesperson said: "As part of our investigation, we would like to hear from anyone who was in the area or witnessed the collision, the moments leading up to it or the aftermath.
"Anyone who saw what happened or has any information, including dash cam footage that may assist our enquiries, is asked to call 101 quoting the reference 44240528703."
Police said people can also go online and submit information via https://www.hampshire.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/cor/tell-us-about-existing-case-report/
