Southampton Solent University is set to host an event focused on collaboration within the creative industries.
The event, titled Narrating Creative Regions: Leveraging Strategic Partnerships, Collaborations, and Networks, organised by Creative Network South, will take place on Friday, January 17.
It will be held in The Spark building on the university's campus.
The event aims to bring together professionals from various sectors, including local government and the arts, to discuss how universities can partner with creative organisations to stimulate economic growth and nurture regional talent.
Southampton Solent University is one of 18 partners in Creative Network South, a group of local authorities, universities, and businesses aimed at enhancing the region's creative industries.
The university's students benefit from industry connections and advanced facilities, acquiring essential skills for success in creative fields.
The event will kick off with Dom Jinks, head of creative industries and economy at the University of Exeter, discussing the leadership role of higher education in cultural and creative designations.
Dr Roy Hanney, Associate Professor at Solent University, said: "This symposium is an exciting opportunity to explore how regional partnerships can stimulate economic growth and create opportunities for new talent. By sharing best practices and forging new collaborations, we aim to build a more integrated and resilient creative ecosystem in our region."
Carys Bradley-Roberts and Laura Sinclair from the Centre for the Creative Economy at Cardiff University will later share their experiences of driving economic growth and developing talent through collaboration with the private and public sectors, as well as educational and industry partners.
The day will culminate in an interactive workshop designed to explore fostering meaningful collaboration between creative and cultural sectors and universities.
Professionals interested in enhancing the region's creative economy are encouraged to attend.
The event runs from 12.30pm to 4pm.
