Mr Pegg said that Mr Emburey was on holiday in Crete with his parents shortly before his death, returning home before his family due to having issues with the heat.
Mr Emburey kept in touch with his parents before they lost contact with him on August 21. His grandfather visited to check on him, only to find him unresponsive.
The preliminary cause of death has been given as dihydrocodeine toxicity.
Mr Pegg has adjourned the inquest, to take place in full on May 20, 2025.
