Villagers Cathy Pack and Juliette Halliday are pictured at an unveiling ceremony, also attended by the family who have run the pub since 1998 - Neil and Pauline McCulloch and their daughters, Cathy Wilson and Jenna Bessant.

The pub, recently listed again in the Good Beer Guide, has been crowned pub of the year by the South Hampshire branch of CAMRA six times over the years.

They serve 15 different types of Ploughman's lunches, all with home-cooked and locally sourced ingredients. The popular meals even featured on the BBC's Remarkable Places to Eat when First Dates maitre d'hotel Fred Sirieix and celebrity grocer Chris Bavin tried them out for TV.
