A flood warning has been issued as travel chaos erupts across the city.
Heavy rain continues to sweep across the south, causing widespread flooding and road closures in Southampton.
The Environment Agency has now warned of flooding for Chandler’s Ford to Swaythling.
This comes after 30mm of rain was recorded in Portswood.
Described as “heavy and intense” rainfall, the Environment Agency said surface water will be impacting roads in Chandler’s Ford and at Stoneham Way from Chestnut Way to the M27.

A spokesperson said: “The water level in the Monks Brook is high and rising rapidly.
“The river is flooding the recreational ground at Fleming Park.
“From 7.30am this morning, the river will flood gardens and may impact properties at Kingfisher Road, Pennine Way, Skipton Road, Magpie Lane and Brookside Way.
“Rain clears to the east by 8am this morning and the river should also peak at this time, remaining very high until midday.”
Shortly before 9am this morning, the water level at Monks Brook was 0.98 metres, while Tanners Brook at Shirley Pond hit 13.88 metres.
The Environment Agency said property flooding is possible when it rises above 14.8 metres.
