Police have confirmed the cause of the delays.
A spokesperson for the police said: "A collision between two cars on the M3 was reported at 1.44pm today. No injuries were reported and the road is clear."
Traffic is being worse as we head into the rush hour.

AA Traffic is reporting: "One lane closed and queueing traffic due to obstruction on the road on M3 Northbound from J12 A335 (Eastleigh) to J11 A3090 (Winchester South).
"Congestion to J12 (Eastleigh)."
