Drivers in Hythe faced heavy traffic yesterday after the Hythe Bypass was shut in both directions by police.
A three vehicle pile-up caused the traffic issues on Tuesday evening.
The road was closed while crews worked to move the three vehicles involved in the crash.
Fuel had spilled onto the road as a result of the crash causing an extended clean up operation.

A spokesperson for Hampshire police said: "We attended a collision involving three cars on the Hythe By Pass in Dibden Purlieu, which happened around 6.45pm.
"The road was closed in both directions due to vehicles blocking the road and a fuel spill.
"One person has reported a minor injury."
This comes after a crash on the bypass in October saw a man hospitalised with a 'serious leg injury'.
