The son of a highly regarded history teacher and cricketer has hiked 900km in memory of his beloved dad.
Tim Bacon, from Bassett, took on The Camino Frances to raise money for the British Heart Foundation in honour of Nick, a teacher at Hamble Community College for 30 years and a Hursley Park Cricket Club stalwart.
Nick, a fit and healthy 71-year-old, suffered a sudden fatal heart attack in February 2022.

READ MORE:On his fundraising page, son Tim said: "Dad was active and healthy, without any medical concerns so we had absolutely no idea what was coming until that evening.
"Despite best efforts from myself, my Mum and the paramedics, we were unable to save him, and he tragically passed away."
He went on to say: "He was the best Dad and like a best friend to me. He has been missed every day since he left us."
Tim, a Southern League cricketer for Hursley Park, was inspired to raise money for the British Heart Foundation in his dad's memory.
He said: "Around 20 people every single day pass away as a result of heart attacks, something I was unaware of until it happened to dad.
"Since his passing, I have wanted to do something in his memory and raise much needed funds for a charity that helps to prevent losses like this for other families."
He has raised more than £5,500 for the British Heart Foundation with over a month of walking.
He said: "It was the adventure of a lifetime. I started alone but made friends with other walkers from all over the world which was a highlight."
Tim set off from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port in South West France. Carrying his backpack of belongings for 25km to 35km each day, Tim arrived in Santiago de Compostela after 32 days of walking to be greeted by mum Anne, brother Tom and partner Karolina.
He then walked on to the very Western most point of Spain.
