Students from Brockenhurst College have been given a tour of New Forest District Council's (NFDC) latest housing development.
The tours were conducted on October 21 and October 23 at Moore Close, New Milton.
NFDC is currently developing 10 houses and six flats in the area to supply new affordable housing.
Councillor Derek Tipp, portfolio holder for planning and economy, said: "We're proud to welcome students from Brockenhurst College to our latest housing development.
"We've had a longstanding relationship with the college, and we were honoured to receive their Employer of the Year award in July."
He added that the visit not only boosted the students' understanding of their trade, but also underscored the council's commitment to being a preferred employer.
Phillip Wood, a lecturer in electrical installations at Brockenhurst College, added: "Our Level 2 Domestic Electrical Installations students enjoyed a visit to the site.
"The trip gave them the opportunity to see how electrical work is carried out on an active construction site, and they were able to speak to electricians to find out about the work they carry out."
Several students have since shown interest in pursuing careers as domestic electricians.
