Over the years, the Mansel Park Fun Day has grown in size and scope, reflecting the evolving needs and interests of the community.

It became a beloved tradition, offering a day of fun, entertainment, and connection for residents of all ages.

It all began in 1998 when the community expressed a desire for improvements to Mansel Park, envisioning ponds, play areas, and seating. So a fun day was formed.

The Outer Shirley Regeneration Project secured funding for significant park upgrades in 2000, including new play equipment, football pitches, and paths.

The Friends of Mansel Park group was formed, bringing together local residents to champion the park's revitalisation.

The group began organising fun days on an annual basis to celebrate the park's transformation and foster community spirit.
