A partnership has secured a permanent job for a young man with high-functioning autism.
The collaboration between Minstead Trust Empowering Employment (EE) and Positive Path Foundation (PPF) helped a PPF member, known as Connor, find a permanent role with the gardening team at Furzey Gardens.
This was part of Connor's chosen path to independent living via a career in horticulture.
Furzey Gardens, a social enterprise run by Minstead Trust, has been providing work and employment skills for people with learning disabilities since 1973.
The EE and PPF partnership aims to break down employment barriers for those with hidden disabilities.
EE connects employers and jobseekers with learning disabilities, while PPF offers ongoing support to ensure a positive workplace experience.
The partnership has previously seen PPF members employed in various sectors, including performing arts, hospitality, and law.
Furzey Gardens has recently launched 'Gardening in the Community', a venture providing their gardening skills to local homeowners and businesses.

The Positive Path Foundation operates as a membership organisation for individuals with hidden disabilities, such as high-functioning autism.
Jane Atkinson, Founder of Positive Path Foundation, said: "I am beyond passionate about creating opportunities for those with hidden disabilities to achieve their full potential and live their best life. That Furzey Gardens offered Connor a permanent job is a fantastic demonstration of what our members can achieve given the right support and a chance to shine. The partnership with Empowering Employment is key to showing the world that hidden disabilities need not be barriers to success. Clearly, Minstead Trust saw Connor's talents and are now making the most of them!"
Andrew Bentley head of horticulture at Minstead Trust, said: "I am delighted to be able to employ Connor at Furzey Gardens, initially as our assistant gardener."
More information about the foundation is available on its official website.
The collaboration between Positive Path Foundation and Minstead Trust Empowering Employment has received support from numerous organisations.
Notably, the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Community Foundation Charles Burnett Memorial Grant has played a significant role in facilitating their efforts.
