A woman was taken to hospital following an assault earlier today.
Police officers were called to Swaythling Road in West End shortly before 7.30am.
It followed a report that a woman in her 20s had been assaulted.
Officers attended the scene and the woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

An investigation has been launched to establish the circumstances.
Police were also in the West End area last night after a group of men with machetes were reportedly seen in Allington Lane.
Armed police were called to the area but no men or weapons were found.
