A wanted man who was “acting suspiciously” in a high street was apprehended by police.

Officers were patrolling Shirley high street on Sunday afternoon when they spotted the male.

He was seen acting in a suspicious manner and was stopped by officers.

It was discovered he was wanted for assault, public order offences and shoplifting.

He was swiftly arrested and taken into custody.
