A man has been charged after an altercation which saw a man suffer life-threatening injuries.
The man, aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital after the altercation involving two men on Sunday just before 5.30pm.
It happened on Kingsbury Road, Bevois Valley.
Police have now confirmed that a man from Southampton has been charged with wounding with intent and possession of a Class B drug.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: “As part of our enquiries, Steve Fitzgerald, 20, of Hazel Road, Southampton has been arrested and subsequently charged with Section 18 – wounding with intent and possession of a Class B drug.
“He appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, October 15, where he was further remanded in custody.”
Fitzgerald is due to next appear at Southampton Crown Court on Monday, November 11.
