A new free training programme is being offered to help people enter the maritime industry.
Solent Partners has teamed up with various successful maritime organisations for the 'Marine Electrician Skills Bootcamp', which offers free training for those with an electrical or engineering background.
The course, delivered by British Maritime Training and Assessment, includes both face-to-face and online learning. It guarantees an interview with local employers upon completion.
Applications are now open for electricians, engineers, and similar professionals.
Rachael Randall, chair of the Solent Growth Partnership’s Business Board, said: "The Solent region is a hub for maritime innovation and development.
"We know employers need more trained marine electricians to meet demands now and in the future, which is why we are committed to supporting individuals to get the skills they need to join this thriving and exciting sector.
"This is a fantastic opportunity for people with a manufacturing, engineering or electrical background to upskill and transition into the booming maritime industry."
