A care home has teamed up with a food bank to launch a new drop-off point for unwanted items.
Carpathia Grange, Hythe, is encouraging the local community to donate surplus non-perishable food items to the new drop-off point, located in the care home’s reception, until October 31.
The initiative is part of the Harvest Festival celebrations, which involve various activities, including intergenerational arts and crafts, singing, and a soup-making session using leftover ingredients.
Pooja Dhoot, home manager at Carpathia Grange, said: "At Carpathia Grange, we are always looking for ways to give back and support our community and local charities, which is why we’re delighted to be partnering with Waitrose and Partners and launching our first ever foodbank drop-off point.
"In these challenging times, we know many people may be struggling, and with Christmas fast approaching, it’s more important than ever to support foodbanks which provide a vital lifeline for many members of our local community."
