An inquest has opened into the death of a Totton man found dead in the River Blackwater.
Karl Ryan Golden, 37, was discovered face down in the river near Testwood Lakes, a hearing at Winchester Coroner's Court was told.
The police attended but Mr Golden, of The Redfords, could not be saved. Later he was formally identified by his father on June 9.
Consultant pathologist Eleanor Jaynes conducted a post-mortem and reported the cause of death as cocaine toxicity.
Assistant coroner Robert Simpson adjourned the inquest until January 6 next year.
