A Southampton marina-management company has announced plans to expand after acquiring a 3.2-acre plot.
MDL Marinas, which runs Shamrock Quay marina, has bought the land off Lower William Street, which will be used for extra boat storage, manufacturing, and sales.
The site is next to the current marina and will have increased security, including more CCTV cameras and new power and water outlets.
The new site, called Millstone Point, has a large building with offices that MDL plans to rent out.
An upgraded pontoon has been installed, which can now accommodate yachts up to 50 metres in length.
Tim Mayer, MDL’s Sales & Marketing Director, said: "Our acquisition of land adjacent to Shamrock Quay earlier this year and the ongoing improvements demonstrate MDL’s dedication to expanding our offering and providing the best facilities for boat owners.
"We’re thrilled to support our customers with enhanced storage solutions and fantastic winter offers, not just at Shamrock Quay but across several of our premium marinas.
"Whether you’re looking for a secure winter mooring or need to carry out essential maintenance, our offers provide great value for money."
MDL Marinas has also announced a series of improvements at Shamrock Quay.
These include a complete overhaul of the H to K pontoons, a new access gate, and resurfacing of key road areas and the lower-level car park.
MDL Marinas also runs Hythe Marina Village, Ocean Village, and Port Hamble Marina
