The Federation of Bursledon Schools has announced new extended wraparound care hours as it invites parents and carers to see the school during open days.

The open day will be held on November 5 at 9am and 1pm.

As a new school year begins, Bursledon Church of England Infant School has welcomed Mrs Nesbitt as the new head of school and Mr Walkowiak as the new assistant headteacher, joining the senior leadership team with executive head teacher Mrs Stamp and head of school (junior) Mrs Elliott.

The federation now offers wraparound care from 7.45am until 6pm, which is run in-house, and can be booked on the day.

The afterschool club, Windmills, offers two tiers of care, with both breakfast and Windmills clubs having availability.

Bursledon Church of England Infant School received a positive SIAMS report in 2023, and the infant and junior schools were awarded a 'Good' rating in the latest Ofsted inspections.

Both reports are available to read on the Bursledon Schools website.

The federation was highlighted as exceptional by the Government during a visit from Education Minister Nick Gibb in 2023, and received the highest phonics results across Hampshire schools.

Mrs Nesbitt said: "It’s always been a privilege to work in an infant school because we’re part of setting the foundations for the children to become life-long learners."

Mrs Stamp said: "We cannot wait to share our welcoming and inclusive school culture. Here at Bursledon staff work hard to create an environment where everyone feels supported.

"Visitors will experience the sense of community and see first-hand the relationships between children, teachers, and parents. Our core values of love, respect, and aspiration guide every decision we make, shaping the foundation of our Federation's excellence. These principles inspire us to create a supportive, inclusive environment where every child can thrive."
