A pub in Gosport has helped raise almost £100,000 for charity.
Proper Pubs, part of Admiral Taverns, organised the fundraising over three months. The group has more than 200 pubs across the UK.
In the south, several pubs raised more than £1,500 each for causes important to both the operators and the local community.
The White Horse in Gosport raised £2,011 through a family fun day in August.
The money was shared between Marvels Meltdowns, a charity supporting families with children affected by ADHD, and a campaign to install a life-saving defibrillator.
The Albion Inn in Tewkesbury donated £1,553 to various causes, including the air ambulance, Breast Cancer UK, Heart Heroes, Tewkesbury Day Care Centre, and the local foodbank, Northway Pantry.
Proper Pubs regularly organises events and fundraising activities to support its communities. The group was named Community Pub Operator at the Publican Awards in March.
Last Christmas, they donated 20,000 Christmas selection boxes and other festive treats to local charities.
More recently, the group provided enough food to local foodbanks to feed 1,300 people for a week. It has also been recognised for a UK-wide defibrillator installation campaign, which has already saved 11 lives.
Mark Brooke, managing director at Proper Pubs, said: "I would like to thank everyone who came together to make this happen.
"As always, I’m absolutely blown away by the creativity of our incredible operators for organizing these fundraising events and of course by the generosity of their communities. We believe pubs are so much more than just a place to drink, but rather social hubs that support all aspects of community life, and I think this stands testament to that."
