A care home in Sarisbury Green has been awarded a prestigious accreditation for its high standards of care.
Ancasta Grove, on Barnes Lane, received the Gold Standards Framework (GSF) accreditation, recognising its exceptional nursing care for residents in their later years of life and support for their families.
Developed in 2004, the GSF is an evidence-based programme focused on improving end-of-life care, ensuring individuals live well in their final years and pass away comfortably in their chosen environment.
The care home demonstrated its commitment to understanding and implementing residents' final wishes, working closely with families to eliminate unwanted hospitalisations, allowing residents to pass away peacefully at home.
Staff at Ancasta Grove also showed their ability to collaborate with local GPs, primary care teams, and specialists to provide seamless end-of-life care.
The report praised the home’s holistic approach, which ensures residents, regardless of their life stage, find fulfilment.
This includes offering a healthy diet and tailoring activities to individual needs and abilities, promoting wellbeing throughout their life journey.
The GSF accreditation process involved a detailed review of the home’s practices, focusing on areas such as care planning, communication, coordination, and symptom management.
The recognition signifies that Ancasta Grove has met the GSF’s rigorous standards, demonstrating a commitment to providing high-quality care for its residents.
The care home will now continue to uphold these standards, fostering personal relationships with residents and supporting families even after their loved ones have passed away.
Audrey Chiduku, home manager at Ancasta Grove, said: "We’re humbled that our work to ensure residents live happy and fulfilled lives, especially in their final days, has been recognised through receiving this accolade. We would also like to appreciate the previous home manager Joel Ignacio, who has moved roles internally within Care UK, for all his hard work in driving the team to secure this prestigious award.
"The team puts their all into delivering exceptional care for residents throughout their time with us at Ancasta Grove, ensuring each and every residents feel their wishes are respected. Our compassionate team ensures residents are treated with dignity and respect as well as offering practical and emotional support to families to help them through this difficult time."
