A new mosaic has been unveiled at a Southampton church.
The Lord Mayor of Southampton, Councillor Dave Shields, revealed the artwork at Freemantle Baptist Church on Saturday, September 28.
The mosaic was created with the help of artist Will Rosie, who guided church members in designing and assembling the piece. The colourful glass tiles were cut and glued into position during sessions at the church's Sunflower Café.
The Lord Mayor and local community members also contributed to the mosaic during the church's Community Day in June. The mosaic, featuring the words "Love, Grow, Serve," is now displayed on the side of the church building on Testwood Road.
The words are taken from the church's strapline, "Growing in faith, Serving in love." The church hopes the sunflower design will brighten the day of passers-by.
After the unveiling, Reverend Linda Hayes invited attendees to enjoy tea and cakes in the church hall.
