A third arrest has been made after hundreds attended a huge car meet that was likened to 'a scene out of the Fast and The Furious'. 

The driver of a white BMW M2 was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after scores of people attended the events in Southampton, Winchester and Portsmouth. 

The 22-year-old man was caught and the vehicle was seized after it arrived at a gathering in Westmead, Farnborough on Friday (September 27). 

It is alleged the vehicle had been seen doing doughnuts whilst in Southampton on Saturday, September 21.

Now police have issued a warning to people attending these events after it was reported that members of the 500 strong crowd let off fireworks, hung out of the windows of moving vehicles, and drove at high speeds.

Chief Superintendent Darren O'Callaghan said: "We have been very clear that we will do all in our powers to identify, locate and arrest people we believe to be involved in dangerous driving and anti-social behaviour at these gatherings.

"If you don't want us taking your vehicle and arresting you, then don't behave recklessly and endanger the lives of others, along with the considerable impact it has on local residents.

"We will act swiftly and decisively, using all powers available to us to disrupt this behaviour."

Huge crowds gathered as part of the car meet on Saturday, September 21 (Image: Hampshire Constabulary) The meet last weekend began at Winchester Park and Ride, before moving on to Southampton, Eastleigh, Chandler's Ford, Fareham and finally gathering at Southsea seafront shortly after midnight.

Two men, a 19-year-old from Swanmore and an 18-year-old from Tadley, were initially arrested after the incident.

The chief superintendent added: “If you do not want to find us knocking at your door and taking away your car, it is very simple, do not engage in this reckless and disorderly behaviour.

"While many car enthusiasts are respectful and want to show their car off in a safe and responsible way, too many are now flouting the laws of the road and blighting our communities, having a serious impact on people's lives.

"We will not tolerate anti-social and dangerous driving, putting people at risk on our roads.

“Not only are people attending events at risk should someone lose control of a vehicle, but innocent bystanders simply trying to go about their business are being endangered."
