It is frustrating to see the visiting caravans on land by Lordshill Library.
It speaks to the lack of investment and maintenance and care given to the Lordshill area and potentially to the lack of knowledge of history of the vicinity.
In 2010 the council paid for a bund installation around the land.
This was due to its frequent use by travellers that is in a spot by multiple sheltered housing developments.
If anyone looks at Google 2016 Streetview photos for the Lordshill Centre East and West roundabout, they'll see not only did the car parks have height barriers at their entrances, but there was an additional barrier that made sure the land isn't accessible by vehicles.

Fast forward to today and the height barrier to the car park is no longer there, possibly as council vans use it as the morning meeting point.
The additional barrier that surrounded the car park, also gone.
The site once again is needing the council to invest to protect this piece of land.
Wouldn't it have been cheaper to keep it maintained in the first place?
