Gosport's MP has been re-elected as the chair of the Culture, Media, and Sport Select Committee.
Dame Caroline Dinenage previously held this position from May 2023 until the UK General Election earlier this year.
The Culture, Media, and Sport Committee scrutinises the work of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, and conducts inquiries on related topics, reporting its findings to the House of Commons.
Select Committee chairs are elected by MPs from all political parties, and Dame Caroline ran unopposed.
In her candidate statement, Dame Caroline outlined the significance of the sectors represented by the Department for Culture, Media, and Sport, her previous record as chair of the committee, and her priorities for the committee should she be elected.
Following her re-election as chair, Dame Caroline said: "I’m delighted to be re-elected to chair the Culture, Media and Sport Committee and entrusted to build on our achievements in the last parliament.
"These sectors are our global economic super-power, and they have remarkable abilities to drive regeneration and bring communities together.
"I will continue to work cross-party to ensure the government doesn’t take them for granted and they continue to fire on all cylinders."
