Southampton bus operator Bluestar is urging women to consider a career as a bus driver.
To inspire interest, Bluestar is hosting an event at its Empress Road depot in Southampton on Friday, September 27, where attendees can experience driving a bus in a safe, off-road environment.
Nikki Honer, head of communications at Bluestar, said: "Across the UK, women are still vastly under-represented in this field - and we want to encourage more of them to consider working within the bus industry as a driver."
She added: "We have designed a specially branded bus, which will be at the event, to help raise awareness and attract more women into the industry."
The event, running from 10am to 2pm, will include introductions to double-decker buses and a drive around the car park.
Those interested can register on Bluestar's website, but walk-ins are also welcome.
Further details are available on the Bluestar website.
