A HAMPSHIRE villager has been banned for a year after being caught drink driving.
Norman Hedges, 60, of Scott Close, Kings Somborne, was stopped by police in his red Suzuki on Millbrook Road, Southampton, on Friday, July 5, a court heard.
In a test, he was found to have 53 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of his breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
Hedges pleaded guilty to the offence at Southampton Magistrates' Court on August 29.
He was also fined £500.
