Gosport Borough Council has flown its flags at half-mast as it paid tribute to Councillor Alan Durrant who has tragically died.
The council offered its condolences to Cllr Durrant’s family and said it was flying its flags at half-mast on Thursday.
Cllr Durrant was elected to represent the ward of Harbourside and Town in May 2022 as a member of the Labour Party and was re-elected earlier this year.
He served as a member on the Housing Board from 2022.

Cllr June Cully, leader of the Gosport Labour Group, said: “Alan cared about people and their needs, and he was immensely proud to serve the residents of Harbourside and Town ward and Gosport.
"He was committed to seeing improvements to the environment, community safety, and opportunities for all ages including employment, housing and protecting our heritage.
“Alan was a pleasure to have as my deputy and colleague and will be greatly missed."
