A shoplifter has been jailed for attacking a security guard who tried to stop him leaving the supermarket.
Jordan Bell of Brockhurst Road, Gosport punched and bit the security guard who tried to stop him leaving with carrier bags full of stolen meat.
A court heard how the guard at Sainsbury's, Winchester tried to detain Bell during the incident on August 10, leading to a struggle.
The 26-year-old then punched the guard in the dash and bit his fingers before police arrived and arrested him.
Just two days before he had been seen filling three carrier bags with packets of meat at the same store and then attempting to leave without paying.

He was confronted on this occasion as well, but Bell managed to run off with two of the bags and the guard's body-worn video camera.
He also stole packets of meat on August 9.
The 26-year-old pleaded guilty to assault by beating, two counts of theft from a shop, one count of theft by finding and a public order offence.
He was jailed for 16 weeks at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on August 12.
Sergeant Ryan Keen, from the Winchester Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “It is not acceptable for retail staff to come to work and face this kind of criminality.
“We will continue to work with businesses in the city to make sure those offenders who repeatedly target stores are brought to justice.”
