More than people have been honoured for working at care sales firm Hendy for 25 years - with Eastleigh's branch boasting 53 people having hit the milestone over the years.

In an event held in Brighton commemorating its 165th anniversary, 18 personnel were added to the group, bringing the overall members to 155, which is about 9.4 per cent of the entire workforce consisting of 1,648 employees.

The new members include Graham Biggerstaff and Alan Rawe, both customer service specialists, John Barnes, a finance business partner, and Marie Bennett, senior credit controller.

Long-serving employees at Hendy contribute to a collective service time exceeding 5,166 years.

The club includes employees from over 40 locations throughout the south of England, working in a range of roles from customer service to management.

The event, held at the Brighton Hilton Metropole, featured an awards ceremony and dinner to celebrate the long-serving employees.

Paul Hendy, the chief executive of Hendy Group, presented a carriage clock to the 18 new members of the club.

During the day, new and long-standing members and their families enjoyed activities including an exclusive baking lesson from celebrity chef and Hendy Group Ambassador Rosemary Shrager, a round of crazy golf on Brighton Beach, and walking tours exploring Brighton’s history.

John Barnes, the longest-serving Hendy employee, was hired 56 years ago as an apprentice technician and is still a technician with the company today.
