It's the ultimate event for movers and shakers - and it's set to give Southampton businesses a major boost.

Southampton Cocktail Week 2024, which begins on August 30, is a late-summer celebration of the city’s coolest and most exciting hospitality venues.

Some 30 venues are taking part, from Las Iguanas in Westquay and Rita’s on Oxford Street, to Papillon on Commercial Road and Orange Rooms in Bedford Place.

GO! Southampton is supporting the event, which is being organised by a team of managers from the city's hospitality industry.

Tamsin Stone, restaurant manager at Mango Thai Tapas Bar, said: "It’s a great opportunity to head out to bars and venues you might not have been to before and to discover a new favourite tiple.

"It’s fantastic so many venues have signed up, we want to showcase them all, so that everyone knows what they offer and how to find them.

“There are some real hidden gems in the city, each with its own unique atmosphere. Visitors will find quirky, dramatic, sumptuous and retro bars plus delicious cocktails to delight and surprise them. We know it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Participating venues will hold a fun activity or event during the week as well as creating their own signature cocktail for visitors to enjoy.

With wristbands starting from just £5 per person, participants will receive a goody bag which they can collect from one of the participating local businesses.

Louie Mangion, general manager of Papillon, said: "We’ve been working hard on producing our signature cocktail.

"It’s a great chance for people to bar hop, and see what everyone has to offer, and not just when it comes to the drinks, but also the vibe."

Each goody bag will contain a comprehensive guide to the events happening at each bar, plus a wristband that entitles the wearer to exclusive perks.

Flo Bevis, marketing manager at GO! Southampton, said: “We’re inviting everyone to be part of Southampton Cocktail Week and contribute to this vibrant community event.

"We know it’s been a tough time for the industry, but Southampton has such a great offering, and it’s through these kinds of initiatives that makes the city such an exciting destination for lunch, afternoon drinks or a night out.”
