Two teenagers have beena rrested after police received more than 25 reports of cars being stolen in just over a month in Millbrook and Redbridge.
Hampshire Constabulary has issued a warning to residents after the high number of reports of vehicle theft, or attempted vehicle theft, in the Coxford, Redbridge and Millbrook areas of the city.
Officers have arrested a 13-year-old boy from Southampton on suspicion of conspiring to steal a motor vehicle, and he has been released on conditional bail.
The force have also arrested a 14-year-old boy from Southampton on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, who has been released under investigation.
Police are asking residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity or attempted thefts.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: “The majority of these incidents have taken place overnight and have targeted motorbikes and mopeds.
“Southampton West’s local neighbourhood policing officers are currently working through all available lines of enquiry in order to identify and locate the offenders and have been in the affected areas carrying out high visibility patrols at all times of day and will continue to do so."
