An historic fort is set to play host to a two-day re-enactment for the first time.
Fort Brockhurst will host the event for the first time at this year's Gosport Heritage Open Days.
Across the open days there will be 72 free activities between September 6-15.
Local Victorian philanthropist Henry Cook will be honoured at the Imagination Refinery with activities, art and quizzes, with guest appearances set to feature.
This year, 36 new events have been added to the schedule, including imaginative sessions such as ‘navigating Gosport by Nose’.
Additionally, the history of Rowner will be explored through exhibitions, tours and a guided walk.
The celebrations of D-Day include espionage talks, historical photo exhibitions and radio-controlled mock battles, demonstrating the Allies' invasion of occupied France.
Booking starts on August 17 at 9.30am online and over the phone.
Special assistance for bookings is available at the Imagination Refinery for those with accessibility requirements.
