Southampton homecare worker, Charlotte Lowther, has battled through to the finals of the exciting new talent show, Homecare’s Got Talent (HCGT).
Set to take place on August 8 at Joseph Rowntree Theatre in York, Lowther, who hails from Right at Home Solent in Southampton, will compete along Chichester’s Felicia Tahwa from Caremark.
They are among top competitors vying for a £1,000 grand prize, an all-expenses-paid holiday and the chance to perform at Carefest, an annual celebration honouring health care workers.
A panel of celebrity judges, including Eurovision winners Cheryl Baker and Jay Aston from Bucks Fizz, have been assessing participants showcasing a range of talents from singing to baton twirling over the past weeks.
After diligent consideration, the Gloucestershire judges selected the extraordinary vocals of Lowther and Tahwa as two of the top acts.
Both finalists have devoted years to delivering care to individuals in their homes in Southampton and Chichester.
This dedication has been key in their journey to the HCGT finals.
Pleas have been going out for community support on social media and at the event, which aims to raise funds for The Care Workers Charity. The charity strives to improve the financial, professional and mental wellbeing of care workers. The gala is anticipated to be a lively night full of stunning performances.
Homecare's Got Talent is grateful to its sponsors Celo, OneTouch, Autumna, Howden, Raring2go! and We Care Communications, Social Media 92 as well as several supporting brands.
Supporters hope the event will not only showcase the talents of healthcare workers but also raise awareness and funds for improving the lives of care professionals.
Ms Tahwa said: "Winning an all-expenses paid holiday basically means my husband and I can finally go on our honeymoon – we’ll be married for 5 years this December! Winning the final would be the cherry on top for me, I’m very happy to have represented Caremark and come this far.
"For me, to have met amazing individuals from all over the UK who dedicate themselves to providing exceptional care to clients daily, as well as get to share the stage with them and their amazing gifts, is absolutely monumental."
