A Southampton barista is among an exclusive club chosen to travel to the Olympic Games in Paris.
Michaela Wilson has been selected as part of an elite team of 130 baristas, service engineers and team managers to travel to Paris as part of Costa Coffee's presence at the Olympics.
Michaela, who is a restaruant supervisor at Haskins garden centre in West End, is the sole representative from Costa's partner brand baristas.
Michaela said: "This is a brilliant opportunity to be part of one of the biggest events in the world, and I am so excited to represent Haskins alongside the best Costa Coffee baristas.
"We have had several intense training days to prepare us, but I am relishing the challenge."
The Paris Olympics will feature Costa Coffee at various locations such as the Athletes’ Village, the Place de la Concorde, Roland Garros, and the Eiffel Tower.
Ms Wilson added: "I never imagined being a part of the Olympic Games Paris 2024, and I am so grateful to have been given this chance."
Jason Froggatt, group catering manager for Haskins, said: "We are so proud of Michaela and her growth as an internationally recognised barista after competing in Costa Coffee’s Global Barista of the Year finals in 2023.
"At Haskins, we provide our colleagues with the support to develop their skills, allowing them to thrive and represent Haskins on the big stage."
