The Mayflower stage has been a launching pad for legends since flapper dresses were all the rage in the 1920s.
Back then it went by the name The Empire, afterwards The Gaumont, but the star power has stayed electric.
Think of it as a revolving door for musical royalty: The Beatles, the Stones, even Queen – they all rocked the stage there.
And we've got pictures of queues of people waiting to bag themselves tickets.
One pic, from 1975, captures the pure pandemonium of Bay City Rollers ticket mania. Another, from 1980, shows some truly dedicated fans camping out for a one-night-only Genesis gig.
The fans pictured were clearly not taking any chances!
Music acts such as Bob Dylan and Led Zeppelin led to fans camping outside the venue.
Fast forward a decade, and you've got fans braving the elements for Bros and Jason Donovan.
