The charity's chief executive Debbie Tann, MBE, said: "Nature protection and recovery is not the enemy of economic growth and prosperity in our region; it is essential to it.
“Today, we proudly launch the Trust's Business Pledge, signed by leading local businesses and corporate partners, clearly illustrating the business community's support for doing the right thing and recognising nature's crucial role in underpinning and delivering economic growth and a more sustainable economy.
“We call on the new government and local MPs to take notice, and we look forward to engaging with them further on delivering the positive solutions needed."
The businesses who signed the pledge were Arcadian Consulting, Candover Brook, Commercial Lighting, Eco Drift, ERMC, Gurit, Lakeside North Harbour (Avison Young), PM Leisure Homes, Southern Car Storage, Southern Co-op, Springvale Equipment Ltd, Vintage Roots Ltd, Wildflower Turf and Wightlink Ltd.
The pledge said: "As a business, we recognise the crucial link between protecting nature and fostering a robust economy and resilient society.
"The climate and nature crises pose significant risks, potentially leading to a 12 per cent GDP reduction by the 2030s. Urgent action is needed.
"Investing in nature not only benefits community health but also offers opportunities for a greener economy.
"We believe that businesses must be part of the solution."
The pledge is a live initiative, and will remain open for further businesses to sign.
