Southampton is awash with seaside fun following the arrival of a beach on the high street.
People can enjoy a taste of summer in the city centre as a beach club opens to the public.
Around 18 tonnes of sand now lines Above Bar Street, bringing the beach to shoppers and residents alike.
S&D Leisure, which runs the city’s Christmas market, is behind the project.
Chris Thompson, from the firm, said: “We are delighted to be back in the city for the summer, bringing what we hope will be a fun attraction for all ages.
“Our beach-themed event includes places to eat and drink, games for the children, plus a complete schedule of free live entertainment from music and DJs to salsa parties.
“All we need now is the summer weather.”

Free family-friendly fun opened on Monday with a range of activities and food and drink offerings available.
Children can look forward to digging for treasure in the giant sandpit, enjoying bungee trampolines, and playing ‘hook a duck’ games.
Seaside favourites like fish and chips and a BBQ grill can also be enjoyed by hungry beachgoers.
In the evenings, the atmosphere will come alive with live music, making the ‘beach bar’ the perfect place to gather with friends.
The Summer Beach Club will runs through to Sunday, September 1.
It will be open daily from 11am to 10pm Monday to Saturday, and 11am to 7pm on Sunday.
