Care home residents were delighted when a pony popped in for a visit.
Whispa paid a visit to Alston House care home on Leigh Road, Eastleigh.
Organised by resident Daniella Hone, the visit was part of Care Home Open Week.
Resident Alison, whose full name was not released by the home, said: "My father was a farm hand, so I was always surrounded by animals and was never short of animal friends.
"I have always loved horses, although I haven’t always had the best of luck with them.
"I was kicked in a field when a stray horse got spooked once and I was also injured when I released some horses when they were caught in wire.
"It’s never put me off, though - they are amazing creatures. I think I could still learn to ride a horse. It’s never too late to learn new things!"
Community relations manager Kieran Hogan said: "It was wonderful to have the animals here and invite members from the community into Alston during the open week.
“Alison formed a particular bond with Whispa. Animals provide such comfort and certainly help us all feel better."
