Police are investigating a pitbull seen 'on the loose' at a New Forest golf course.
According to an eyewitness, the dog - described as an American Pit Bull Terrier - was seen last Wednesday morning and this Tuesday at Dibden Golf Centre in Main Road, Dibden.
It was seen off the leash with no owner in sight, allegedly barking aggressively at a customer.
A police spokesman said: "Officers have received a report relating to an unaccompanied dog being seen on a number of occasions at Dibden Golf Course.
"Police are looking into the matter."
The club is run by Mytime Active.
A spokesperson said: "All Mytime Active’s golf courses are dog friendly.
"As a charitable social enterprise, we are keen to encourage dog walkers in our local communities to use our outside spaces for their wellbeing.
"However, we do expect dog owners walking on our golf courses to control their pet and act responsibly.
"We are investigating this matter to understand exactly what happened."
