Southampton's Europa Road branch is once again delivering to pre-Brexit timescales, four years after Britain's EU exit.

Celebrating its decade of operation, the prospect marks a significant improvement for South Coast exporters coping with post-Brexit challenges.

Toton-based Branch Manager, John Moy, who's been at the helm for a decade, has been observing the shift in the market landscape.

The Southampton branch of road freight operator Europa Road, part of the UK’s largest independent operator Europa Worldwide Group, facilitates the movement of varied goods exported across the South Coast.

Mr Moy said: "It continues to be a tough time for exporters in general, but we appreciate that exporting offers many opportunities for businesses to grow, so are pleased that we have invested in our infrastructure resulting in improved delivery times for our customers, returning to pre-Brexit times."

The team comprises of 18 staffers, spread over two sites in the city known as the Gateway to the World, thanks to its multiple ports, airports, and burgeoning sectors like tech and life science.

Besides handling unusual ugly freight, their repertoire includes regular goods like toys and niche items for the interior and furniture industries.

They also import for specialised customers, importing wine from France, Spain, and Italy, a sector growing annually by 10 per cent.

The branch delivers an impressive 400,000 consignments using the service Europa Flow, developed following an investment of £5m into tech and infrastructure.

The service facilitates exports to the EU on DDP terms, easing customs processes.

As a result, importers don't require customs brokers or have to worry about import declarations or duties.

Present schedules place transit times to Hungary at 4.1 days, Italy at 3.9 days, Denmark at 3.5 days, and Germany at just 3.1 days.

This guarantee on all European freight options is pivotal to the company’s commitment to delivering dependable services.

Adrian Redmile, branch and sales director at Europa Worldwide Group, said: "Over the past 10 years John and the Southampton team have supported customers with an excellent service, through some challenging times.

"We’re delighted to have returned to offering pre-Brexit delivery times whatever the goods shipped."
