An 'intoxicated’ woman carrying a traffic sign in the city centre was among the people arrested during the Euro 2024 final on Sunday evening, according to police.
Thousands of fans gathered in the city centre to watch the match, which ended with England losing to Spain, in a second consecutive European Championship final defeat.
Hampshire Constabulary have now revealed to the Echo that they made two arrests in the city centre in connection with the football.
At around 11.15pm on Sunday, a spokesperson for the force said officers had asked a woman who was carrying a road traffic sign in the Guildhall Square to leave the area.
The woman then became aggressive and kicked one of the officers, police said.

Casey Taylor-Holloway, 32, of Harefield Road in Southampton, has now been charged with assault by beating of an emergency worker and common assault of an emergency worker.
She was due to appear at Southampton Magistrates Court today.
Earlier that evening, further along the road, officers were told that a fight had broken out in Bedford Place at the corner of Cumberland Place.
It was reported to officers that a man in his 20s from Totton had been assaulted. He was taken to hospital for treatment.
A 21-year-old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He has been bailed until October 14.
