Family support organisation Daybreak is commemorating its 25th year helping families across the south of England.

The charity is inviting former families, staff, and volunteers to share their stories as part of a year-long celebration.

Founded by Marilyn Taylor in 1999, Daybreak sought to establish the Māori tradition of Family Group Conferences in Hampshire.

The organisation has since assisted numerous families and young people facing difficulties. In its milestone year, Daybreak wishes to communicate the impact of its work through personal stories.

Over two decades, it has primarily engaged with families across Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset, Sussex, and London by facilitating Family Group Conferences.

These meetings bring together a support network to create a safe action plan, helping families overcome hurdles.

Trained Coordinators guide these dialogues and decision-making processes, often reconnecting individuals with members of their support network.

These narratives and testimonials will be promoted to Daybreak supporters and the general public throughout the next 12 months.

People can participate in a way that suits them, and assistance will be provided for those wishing to be involved.

This initiative is part of broader commemorations, which will feature the launch of a '25-for-25' fundraising event, special events and opportunities to learn about and support the charity.

Daybreak CEO, Debbie Burns said: "We are excited to celebrate 25 years with everyone, and would welcome hearing from people who would be willing to share their experiences of Daybreak’s support, and the positive impact it had on them and their families."

Existing and new supporters can follow all the activities on the Daybreak website or by following @daybreakcharity on various social media platforms.
