A fire has broken out near a block of flats in Hedge End which saw residents evacuated from their homes by the fire service.
Today, a blaze broke out at a bin store behind a block of flats in Whites Way, Hedge End, causing residents to be evacuated from their flats.
Hampshire Fire and Rescue confirmed that two fire engines attended the incident and that the blaze started in the bin store behind the block.
Firefighters evacuated a small group of residents while the fire was extinguished.
The bin store has been left damaged from the blaze with the area condoned off from the public.
One anonymous resident, who was evacuated by Hampshire Fire and Rescue, said: "The fire service did a great job at getting everyone out and making the area safe.
"We believe the fire was started by kids who were either smoking in the bin store or started a small fire which quickly got out of hand."
